“These are now on my favorite memoirs list. One of the many things I loved about these books is the dialogue involved. Linda makes you feel like you are right there with her. She was quite determined at the age of 21 to stay in France and learn the language after leaving her job as an au pair. At the end of the first book you think at one point “I would have packed it in and headed back to the US”, then you think, “Nope, I would stick it out”. Through grit, determination and romance she finds a way to make it work and I’m am glad for one she did. I was glad I bought the box set so I could continue on reading straight away, plus the price was great. It was one of those books that I couldn’t put down and is one I will reread.”
