  1. I just finished your first book – really enjoyed reading about your time with the family and I’m looking forward to your next book very soon.
Looking back and with the wisdom of age do you think you could have done anything to break through to Madam and her daughter? Any ideas of what was bothering her so much – you only triggered what ever that was – you weren’t the cause. Did you hear anything else about them?

Just finished your book and it brought back so many memories.I stayed with a family in Tours around 78 and your book was just a mirror image of my experience without the sexy boyfriend. What is about the french matriarch ,mine treated me in the same way even putting the egg timer beside the phone and charging me .The husband was a gentleman but always bowed to her will.Cant wait to read your next book ,and despite my experience I still love France and always will ,just was introduced to it the same way as yourself .

      Hi Natacha,

Thank you so much for you kind words – I’ll be in a good mood for days! I’m curious, are you an American as well? Just think, if it had been one year later, we may have met. Wouldn’t that have been something. Yeah, I’ve scratched my head many times, trying to understand Madame Dubois’ attitude. It sounds like it may have been commonplace. Your comment about the egg timer made me laugh aloud!

I’m hard at work on my sequel, French Illusions: From Tours to Paris. I hope to have it finished by late winter. I’ll send you an email when it’s available, if you’d like. In closing, can I ask a favor? Will you please go to Amazon http://t.co/4gOrmUV3vx, scroll down the page and write a review? Just a few heartfelt words will do. If you’re on Goodreads, I’d appreciate a rating there too – here’s my link https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16163867-french-illusions. Many people don’t realize how much good reviews help with promotions (before I wrote a book, I had no idea).

      All the best,
      -Linda

Hi Linda will follow up the reviews for you ,thanks for replying and no I am not American but from a place called Portstewart in the North of ireland so phone calls from France didn’t cost a fortune. So disappointed to have finished your book but have told all my friends who went as au pairs to read it,though they seemed to have better experiences
Pity you are so far away as would love to share stories over a coffee or a vin rouge .Good luck with the new book .
        Natacha

Thanks once again for your kind words, Natacha. I agree, it’s a shame we can’t share some stories over a glass of wine. I’d love to visit Ireland one day…who knows?

          All the best to you,
          -Linda

Just finished reading both your books over the last two days, I was gripped, and so pleased to now find you are happily married with daughters.
I feel you have possibly benefited from a varied experience in early life, and wish you every success with any future books.
Life can be cruel at times but we all need upsets to enjoy stability in our relationships.

    Regards Gwendoline martin

    • Hi Gwendoline.

Thank you so much for reading my memoirs. Yes, I wholeheartedly agree that I benefited from my experiences in France as a young woman. I learned so many life lessons – to always strive to tell the truth, to appreciate the loving generosity of my parents and to choose a kind, intelligent man with a secure future as your husband. To this day, I count my many blessings. It seems, from reading your post, that perhaps you found happiness in your relationship choices as well. I hope that’s the case.

Can I ask a favor? Will you write a quick review and post it at Amazon? You could just copy and paste your post above. I liked it very much 🙂

All the best to you in life,
      -Linda
